No longer a house-buoy

I have a  job as a real buoy!!!

Swellendam and the Double Century

After spending too much time at home as a house-buoy it was time for a trip.  This time we were going to Swellendam for a very long bicycle race and were taking along some tourists from Jersey (an island famous for it's cows, and not for the woolly winter garment of the same name).
Watching the rugby after the race with some tired cyclists

Getting to know some of the locals in Swellendam

I met this really cool girl but she seemed to prefer the local hippo!

The cool girl's medal - 1st Ladies Team - congratulations!!

At some stage during the weekend certain members of the team seemed to have had a bit of a party in the Leopard Room...see pictures below (viewer discretion advised).  There were also rumours of a herd of wildebeest having been in the house??

Who is this guy?

Captain of Team 5339.co.uk and his usual party trick - sneaking off to bed!!

Heading Home

A tired runner, napping on the car on the way home.

A very smelly (and grumpy) Greek in the back of the car.

Tea in the Hostel the night before the race

Last minute bike repairs in our room - the beds looked like elephants had slept on them!!

Some bikes got a special place to sleep.

Road Trip Day 2 - Barrydale to Uniondale

After morning tea on the stoep and a little breakfast braai we left the Appelhuis for Part 2 of our road trip adventure.

The Greek suffers from stage fright but did not feel he could perform in the alternative, more private ablution facility available in the orchards.

The Trophy

The Greek bought his girlfriend (yes, an actual girl, not the Runner as some would assume) a t-shirt at Ronnie's
The Cango Caves!!

Waiting to go on our adventure tour

a nervous looking claustrophobe
The entrance was quite small, I can see why the claustrophobe was nervous!!

Awesome!!

Road Trip - September 2010 - Hermanus to Barrydale

My friends were off to do the Karoo to Coast MTB race and as they were making a road trip of it, I decided to join them and see more of my new country.

WARNING: THE FOLLOWING IS NOT FOR SENSITIVE VIEWERS

Just one look at the Runner's feet and you can tell why he has switched to cycling...

So sweet - the Runner and the Greek's beds
