Heading Home

A tired runner, napping on the car on the way home.

A very smelly (and grumpy) Greek in the back of the car.

Uniondale

Tea in the Hostel the night before the race

Last minute bike repairs in our room - the beds looked like elephants had slept on them!!

Some bikes got a special place to sleep.

Road Trip Day 2 - Barrydale to Uniondale

After morning tea on the stoep and a little breakfast braai we left the Appelhuis for Part 2 of our road trip adventure.

The Greek suffers from stage fright but did not feel he could perform in the alternative, more private ablution facility available in the orchards.

The Trophy

The Greek bought his girlfriend (yes, an actual girl, not the Runner as some would assume) a t-shirt at Ronnie's
The Cango Caves!!

Waiting to go on our adventure tour

a nervous looking claustrophobe
The entrance was quite small, I can see why the claustrophobe was nervous!!

Awesome!!

Road Trip - September 2010 - Hermanus to Barrydale

My friends were off to do the Karoo to Coast MTB race and as they were making a road trip of it, I decided to join them and see more of my new country.
Leaving for our road trip

We stopped at the viewpoint on Tradouw Pass

sundowner stop

Fun and games on the pass

We stayed in an awesome cottage just outside Barrydale - The Appelhuis

WARNING: THE FOLLOWING IS NOT FOR SENSITIVE VIEWERS

Just one look at the Runner's feet and you can tell why he has switched to cycling...

So sweet - the Runner and the Greek's beds

Christmas In July

Awesome party - fun was had by all!!

Table set for about 40 people

Posing for a photo with the host/chef and his assistant
the two santa's
That weird guy again - I was relieved that Father Xmas didn't ask me to sit on his lap again!
Yum!!
My Xmas in July outfit

The hot chick in the middle was my date - she likes foreign men!

An angel?
Some people are just strange!

MTB afterparty

We headed out to Brenton on Sea for a braai after a morning on the bike and tough afternoon in the beer tent.

Post-race drinking games - the rules became interesting after a while!!
This guy made me a bit nervous - he even made me sit on his lap - WEIRD!!

"Hair by A3" a well known hairstylist from the 80's - apparently making a comeback?

Breakfast the morning after!

Knysna Oyster Festival - July 2010

Watching the Spanish team play!!!
This is the real reason I came to SA.

We're back in Knysna, this time for a Mountain Bike race, staying in another wooden house with awesome views of Knysna.
